Sister LJ'er Sara Zarr's Story of a Girl has been nominated for a National Book Award! Yes!

This is so damn exciting! A client of my agent's, Julie Peters, went a couple year's back for Luna. My agent says tickets were a $1,000 each (paid for by the publisher).

Other finalists: Sherman Alexie for "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian," Brian Selznick's "The Invention of Hugo Cabret," Kathleen Duey's "Skin Hunger" and M. Sindy Felin's "Touching Snow."

It's a tough field this year (as always), but I'll be pulling for Sara!
