Teen Read Week - I'm part of the fun


From October 15 to 21, libraries, schools, and bookstores across America will celebrate Teen Read Week, now in its ninth year. Teen Read Week is sponsored by the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA), a division of the American Library Association (ALA). This year's theme encourages teens to use the resources in their library to lead active lives.

The main theme for the Teen Read Week initiative is "Read For The Fun Of It." A sub-theme that changes each year serves as a basis for developing programs in schools, public libraries, and bookstores. This year's sub-theme is "Get Active @ Your Library," and it promotes nonfiction as a tool for getting young adults to read.
