My new YA column in the Oregonian reviews House of the Red Fish (good), Looking for Bapu (so-so), and Megiddo's Shadow (loved everything about this book except the title, which was hard to remember). All three could be described as "a boy during wartime goes on an adventure."

Thanks to LJer Dori Butler for giving me the idea of pitching a YA column. Now if only she could loan me the free time to do it!
