And so I bought some of everything on Sunday and crammed them all in my refrigerator. I always think I will eat them all. And by the time I realize I might not, it's already too late to freeze most of them.
The sad thing is that I will go to the farmers market again on Sunday - and do it all over again! In fact, I have a special order for 10 pounds of pie cherries. Those at least I will pit and freeze right away. There is nothing better than a pie made with pie cherries. If you haven't seen them before, they are smallish and bright, bright red, like a marachino cherry (created at my alma mater, btw).
