I loved SE Hinton's The Outsiders, and That Was Then, This Is Now when I was a teen. Like the publisher wanted me to think, I thought SE Hinton was a cool, good-looking guy, probably someone in a gang, definitely from the wrong side of the tracks. When I was older, I was shocked to find out she was a she. I have no idea whether the rough lives she depicted were based on experience or things she made up.
It was cool to see that SE Hinton's latest is a Booksense pick. It's called Some of Tim's Stories , and the first part is a novella, the second a collection of interviews with the author, who is described as "reclusive."
