For Ellen Wittinger’s Parrotfish. It’s about a transgendered girl who starts living as a boy. The idea reminds me so much of when my kid was in preschool. One of the teacher’s helpers dressed and acted like a boy but had breasts. When I asked my daughter what Tracy was, she replied, with no confusion at all, “She’s a boy.” I need to work on that kind of acceptance.
