The graduate moves on

Did you ever read The Graduate? You could see how easily it became a film – it’s like 90% dialog.

The author, Charles Webb, has a new book out that kind of takes off about 11 years after The Graduate ended. Its called Home School.

I read about it in Entertainment Weekly (a magazine I read at the gym, so that and People are okay because I am burning calories. Maybe US, in a pinch). The oddest thing about the article was this. “In the early 90s, Webb and his wife (whose given name is Eve but has long gone by the name Fred to show solidarity with a men’s support group)…”

And if you were going to pick a name of the opposite sex, what would it be? For me, it definitely wouldn’t be Fred. I’m leaning toward Dante, like one of my characters, but I would have to be a LOT sexier as a man.

What would your opposite sex name be?

How about Leaping Middle?

Is there a farther-along-in-your career equivalent to Publisher's Weekly Flying Starts section? If so, I would love to be in it. Click here to read about this year's flying starts: Jenny Downnham, Jake Wizner, Jonathan Bean, and Catherine Marsh.
