Crazy, crazy Monday

Today I've got to follow my husband as he gingerly drives his car to our mechanic. It overheated on Saturday, and I'm worried the head gasket might be cracked.

Then I'll drive him to work, and hurry back (hopefully) just in time to speak to all the 8th graders at Robert Gray Middle School.

Then I'll rush over to the library, where I have a book on sociopaths on hold, and Fred Meyer to pick up a prescription and groceries.

After that, I'm going to list nearly all my of old office clothes on ebay. I'm hoping to make a dent in the new lap top fund. Plus, it will be a perverse incentive to keep selling books and never go back to an office.

In the middle of the afternoon, I have to have some dental work. Then it's off to pick up my husband, and if I can, go to kung fu class.

Oh, and I'd like to fit some writing in there. Because I've got two books due!

The smell of burning bone

The smell of burning bone, the high-pitched whine of the drill, the black rubber block between your teeth...

Kids these days - who have many fewer cavities - don't know what they're missing.

What's really fun is when the dentist drills out one small and one medium filling and replaces them with one huge filling.
