Life after Patterson

Peter de Jonge is far from a household name, even though he co-authored three books with James Patterson. But his latest he wrote all by himself, and it’s garnering praise from critics that Patterson’s books routinely don’t. The book is called Shadows Still Remain.

You can read more about how de Jonge worked with and without Patterson (and the differences in their stories) < a href=" http://www.nytimes.com/2009/05/05/books/05dejo.html?_r=1&scp=2&sq=james%20patterson&st=cse">here</a>.

You tell me: best Web sites, PC alternative to Scrivener

Okay, Live Journal hive mind, two questions.

1. I am teaching a class for mystery writers. What are your favorite writing-related blogs and Web sites that are about becoming a better writing, getting published, or related to writing mysteries? I'm thinking about Janet Reid, J Konrath, Nathan Bransford, and Lee Lofland. Who else would you add?

2. Also, I remember hearing about a program like Scrivener (which I love!) for those who, sadly, don't own Macs. Does anybody know the name or have an opinion?
