We're doomed

At 2:53 a.m. last night, Teen sent me this email. [Full disclosure: no idea why she sent me an email, it probably seemed like a good idea at 2:53 a.m.]

"I cannot sleep, my throat is on fire and I am both too hot and too cold. My temperature is 102. My guess is I will not be going to school today."

I have six events Friday through Sunday. Some out of town. Some of them have been planned for a year.

I can't get sick.

I just can't.

I guess it can't hurt

Mask. Chlorox wipes. A new thermometer because I don't want to use Teen's. Immunity booster pills. Hand sanitizer. Peptobismol (no stomach involvement for Teen, but just to be one the safe side). Sucrets maximum strength.

I also bought a 99 cent bag of chili cheese Fritos and ate them at 10:11 a.m. Just because.

Getting edgy

The new Jame’s Ellroy book, Blood's A Rover, is described as having a deckle edge. In other words, the pages aren’t neatly trimmed, but a little rough. To me, that sends a subliminal message that the book is of higher quality. I really love the look of deckle edges.

That got me curious to learn more about the different kinds of edges. You can see examples here.
