Blackmail goes high-tech

There’s a new way for blackmailers to make money - and it involves your computer. “A new type of malware infects PCs using file-share sites and publishes the user's net history on a public website before demanding a fee for its removal.” says the BBC News. And “A fictitious organization calling itself the ICPP copyright foundation issues threatening pop-ups and letters after a virus searches the computer hard drive for illegal content - regardless of whether it actually finds anything.”

How to write your novel

There's no shortage of writing advice on the web. I was looking for something else entirely when I came across this post by a physicist who is also a novelist. He approaches writing using something he calls The Snowflake Method. A method he now sells a computer program for.

But can he write? Well, Double Vision got a starred review from Booklist.

And what he had to say about the Snowflake method intrigued me enough that I've reserved Writing Fiction For Dummies at the library, and am going to go back and study his ideas in more detail.
