I like this idea a lot

The Sun-Sentinel has an article about how local bookstores have managed to survive and even thrive in a world dominated by the chains Amazon.

One store is Murder on the Beach. "Sinchuk has also partnered with the restaurant next door, offering "Literary Lunches." For $29, people get lunch and quality time with an author and a signed copy of their book. They've hosted 1,300 lunch guests this year."

I think more bookstores should do this. Annie Blooms, my local store, did this with Elinor Lipman and Jodi Picolt, but hasn't done it for a long time.
