The Hollywood strike may be move, but the affects may linger

A recent article in the LA Times reports that "literary departments at the major talent agencies are getting inundated with book proposals and story ideas for novels from out-of-work screenwriters." This "cruel reality" made me feel sad though: "Because book fees are small change compared with the big payoff of a Hollywood script, it's a treacherous hedge, a gamble on something that might not even cover one month's rent, let alone a house note."

The article also says that screenwriters are good with dialog but crappy with context.
