What's surprised me about the last two weeks

So I've just finished my first two weeks of working for myself (and some assorted editors). Before that, I had left the house every work day and gone to an office, or a desk, or, reaching quite a ways back, a cash register. But I've never been home day after day.

The surprises:

- I haven't been lonely. Today was the first day I was aware of how _quiet_ the house was. But then I put on the lastest from Steve Earle and forgot about it.

- I _can_ crank out the words. I've written about 9,000 words in the last five days. I've never had to do that before.

- I'm eating less than I did in an office. Part of that is good - not so many "I'm bored" snacks. Part of that is bad - because I used to make some of my "I'm bored" food be fruits and vegetables.

- I'm not sure where the time goes. But the day goes really fast. I _still_ need more hours in a day - how is that possible?

If you work at home, what has surprised you about it?
