Self-publishing – despite this story, I still think it’s a don’t

NPR did a story about the woman who self-published The Lace Reader, which went on to sell for an estimated cool $2 million to Harper Collins.

Folks, that is the exception that is so far out of the ballpark it draws everyone’s attention. Reality is not like that. Reality is that without a traditional publisher, your book won’t get distributed. It will probably not be reviewed, unless you count friends and family on Amazon.
