Getting your work into the world

Say your debut novel is named one of the best books of 2002 by both The Washington Post and Publishers Weekly.

Your next book also does well, although it doesn’t make quite as big a splash.

Then it’s 2007 and you have trouble finding anyone to publish your work at all.

What do you do? Well if you’re Mike Heppner, you end up with a unique plan to get the word out about yourself. "500 copies of "Man" [were sent] out scattershot to college campuses, coffee shops, gyms, offices, and airports."
