She's found a lump, had a mammogram and ultrasound, and now is going to have a core needle biopsy.
Initially she went to her family practice doc.
1. But I'm wondering at what point she would be handed to someone else.
2. And who would call her with the results - would her regular doctor do this?
It doesn't seem like she would have gone to an oncologist yet because until now they didn't know she had cancer. And I'm not sure a surgeon would be involved yet because the lump could have been benign. And as far as I can tell, it's a radiologist who does the core needle biopsy - so maybe the radiologist calls with the results.
I can keep an eye out in my gym for this one radiologist I see there occasionally, but if anyone knows the answers, please advise.
