Someone has put together a parody list of predictions for the future of publishing, starting with

Vampire novels will wane in popularity, supplanted by books about some other group of social outsiders whose tragic appeal captures the reading public's imagination. My prediction: Rodeo clowns.”

My personal prediction: Publishers will expect authors to spend more time on Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and their Websites (each, not combined) than they do writing.
