I've been lifting weights long enough that I've heard all kinds of advice. But this seemed pretty scientific, so I decided to try it. Instead of leg pressing 90 pounds 20 times for two sets, I did 120 for one set of 10 reps. With every machine I went up at least five pounds, sometimes 10 or 15, but did fewer total.
Today I hurt. But I was also surprised by what I was capable of.
Which made me wonder if there are other things I am capable of, things I never ask myself to do.
