Stupid author tricks

If you are an award-winning author, what do you do? Hopefully you don’t follow in the footsteps of one British author, who posted negative reviews of other authors’s similar books, and praising his own. Oh, and then threatening to sue anyone who guessed you were the one who had posted said reviews.

“The award-winning Figes, professor of history at Birkbeck, University of London, admitted in April to posting critical reviews of books by a number of authors, including fellow historians Rachel Polonsky and Robert Service, praising his own work and rubbishing that of his rivals.”

But if you do have to do something similar, don’t use the same slightly unusual first name for your made-up name.
