Bullying taken to an unbelievable level

You might not ever have heard to Huntington’s Disease. It is a horrible disease, passed down from a parent. If you have it and have kids, each child has a 50/50 chance of inheriting Huntington’s. Sometimes the inherited form is worse, called juvenile Huntingtons. HD is always, always fatal. The main symptom is involuntary jerking.

I worked on a book for a long time in which a character thinks he has HD. As a result, I ended up on a listserv for HD. The stories on there were so sad. A woman caring for her dying husband in one room and her dying child in another room. One woman asked that people care for her cats and then never posted again.

So in Michigan, a woman had an ongoing feud (it sounded like it began when her neighbor did not invite the woman's kids to a birthday party) with a neighbor who had HD. That neighbor, Laura Edward, eventually died (at the age of 24 - which, even for HD, is young). The other woman, Jennifer, then doctored-up and posted photos of Laura, showing her wrapped in the arms of the grim reaper.  She also posted a photo of Laura's 7-year-old daughter, Kathleen, who is now dying from Huntington's Disease with her face at the center of a skull and crossbones.

You have to see the original story to believe how awful it is.

Now I guess Jennifer is sorry . It's hard to imagine that bullies are happy people.
