An undercover agent said, “You know there’s gonna be a lot of children there?” Mr. Mohamud replied: “Yeah, I mean that’s what I’m looking for.” The agents repeatedly asked him if he was prepared to commit such a violent act. “I want whoever is attending that event to leave, to leave either dead or injured."
Such hate.
He attended elementary and middle school in this area. Teen knows at least one kid who knows the would-be bomber.
He was going to school where I went to college. People described him as fun-loving and out-going. Neighbors and other students were shocked. It's also rumored that his parents had gone to the police with their worries. He taped an angry message for his parents, saying Allah would be mad at them.
On Sunday, someone set fire to the mosque where he occasionally worshipped. More hate.
I woke this morning to the sound of helicopters. We don't live far from a mosque. Last time I heard helicopters like that was when they arrested The Portland Seven (one of whom, Patrice Ford, worked with my husband).
Would he have gone as far as he did if the FBI hadn't assisted him every step of the way? We'll never know.
I still can't past the hate.
