Portland suburb may cut HALF its school librarians

Reading is vital. Every one knows that. But with budgets being slashed, school librarians sometimes look like tempting targets.

School Library Journal reports: "Oregon's Beaverton School District in suburban Portland may lose half of its school librarians should proposed budget cuts meet approval in June." The end result will be one librarian for every two schools!
